The National Council for Population and Development (NCPD) has kicked off preparatory meetings that will see the country host the International Council for Population and Development (ICPD+ 25) summit, that will be held in Nairobi from 13th -15th November 2019.

Addressing the council’s steering committee meeting, NCPD Director General Dr. Josephine Kibaru- Mbae said over 179 countries are projected to attend the summit at the Kenyatta International Convention center (KICC).

The summit will also mark 25 years since the Cairo Conference of 1994. The Director General said NCPD will host the Secretariat organizing the summit.
