On 5th September, 2018, at the Fair View Hotel, Nairobi the National Council for Population and development (NCPD) in collaboration with Ministry of Health – Reproductive Health Maternal Unit Services (RHMSU) held a high level round table meeting with the Family Planning (FP) donors. The meeting objectives were to provide an update on FP commodities and financing status and to agree on the way forward to achieve FP commodities security. The meeting was convened jointly by NCPD & MOH.
The donors present in the meeting were UNFPA, KOICA, USAID, Bill and Melinda Gates, DFID and Embassy of Netherland.
The meeting was graced by the PS – MoH Dr. Engineer Peter Tum and Chief Administrative Officer (CAS) Dr. Rashid Aman who represented the Cabinet Secretary – Health Mrs. Sicily Kariuki. The government reaffirmed that it will prioritize the FP commodities during the Health Sector MTEF budget planning process. In addition, the Donors committed that they will continue to support the government in RH programmes and FP.
